*************************************************************
Chuckling I left the boys alone figuring the aspirin could wait until they were done with Justin. Before closing the bathroom door behind me I watched for a second or two as both Tim and Koko got to it with getting the cream spread over their charge’s injuries. The brown haired golden brown eyed patient glanced my way looking for some reprieve, but seeing no sympathy forthcoming focused his attention back on to the two boys who were debating which cream to use first.
Justin managed to finally find his voice as he cautioned them to use the silky clear ointment in the small tube meant for his scrapes first since the other white dense one used for the bruising burns if there was any residual matter left over on their hands. He most definitely didn’t want his ass on fire much less take the chance of his penis frying from the menthol like bruise cream. That would be disastrous for sure.
It was kind of funny watching both boys begin first on their friend’s ample sized boy bits which had already begun to chub up. I saw the flash of golden brown eyes glancing my way once more as if to say he’s in some deep shit for sure with these two lug-nuts messing about with his private boy baubles. Chuckling I closed the door behind me knowing despite how it looked he was in capable hands, well at least with Tim who I knew would keep Koko in check. I made my way to the toilet to take care of my needs when I heard my little boy’s voice drifting through the doorway.
“No fucking way. I’ve never seen it get that big. How does something so small get so big?” I heard Koko’s shocked voice followed by all three boys busting up laughing.
***********************************************************
If truth be told Koko couldn’t be blamed for his retort, but even so I couldn’t help myself as I began to laugh at his reaction. I mean we’ve both seen Justin sort of chubbed up a little with it looking rather large for a boy his age; however, it still hadn’t prepared us for his full blown erection as I recalled my own shocked response last night when I saw that huge Boa Constrictor of a monster swaying around a few inches from my nose.
Poor Justin, I chuckled to myself shaking my head wondering just how big he’s going to end up getting in the next few years as I pull out my own semi-hard tube realizing the younger boy was already larger than me down there. Sure at thirteen years old an erection close to six inches was only considered slightly above average on what was considered a normal range for boys his age of between two and a half to five and a half inches when hard. Still, not many boys his age are even five and a half inches long between their legs, not to mention Justin epitomizes the term of being a grower. Yet, seeing a thick long hard organ on a boy only five feet tall weighing in at around ninety or ninety five pounds with a slight frame made it look that much bigger.
Washing my hands I began to put toothpaste on my brush when Koko came bursting through the door flinging himself into my arms as he broke down his body wracked with huge sobs. The incident caught me completely by surprise as both Tim and Justin rushed in after him. Picking up Koko into my arms I held him to me as he wrapped his strong legs around my waist pressing his body up against me as if trying to crawl inside my skin.
“Oh d…daddy…h…how can anyone do something like that,” Koko sobbed so hard he was gasping for air. “D…did I look that awful back there?”
I cursed myself for not thinking this through. Of course he’d react this way when he saw the horrible bruising and injuries between Justin’s smooth round pale orbs. After all he’s just gotten over his own brutal attack. Fortunately neither boy had actually been raped, but the internal scaring would take a lot longer to heal than the physical ones. With Koko it was so easy to forget because of his easygoing manner and bubbly personality. This is something I would need to monitor more closely in the future.
“Oh sweetie…I’m so sorry. I should have known better. No, you were only a little bruised up, but the man who did that to Justin used some sort of rough wooden handle which had a lot of splinters on it. We need to be thankful the guy hadn’t managed to get it inside of Justin or it could have been even worse.” I commented feeling Koko’s grip tighten up around me as his body shuddered revoltingly at such a thought.
“W…what’s going on?” Justin asked his eyes having gotten big and round. “W…what are you talking about with Koko’s bruising? I don’t understand.” The boy began to look around his eyes welling up looking between Tim and me as he shook his head back and forth as if he sort of knew the answer already.
Sighing, I gingerly stroked Koko’s naked back as I gazed into Justin’s big brown eyes the gold flakes glittering fiercely with intensity. “Justin last week Tim, Arty, and Koko were assaulted by these three big high school thugs. They roughed up Tim and Arty pretty badly, but the biggest kid tried to rape Koko.” I started to explain when Justin immediately turned pale.
“No,” he shouted as he ran for the sink his body heaving as he tried to vacate the contents of his stomach unsuccessfully since it was completely empty.
Tim immediately ran to his boyfriend supporting the boy’s head as Justin wretched his head buried inside the sink. Several times his body heaved as he gasped for air. In the meantime Koko’s body trembled in my arms as he buried his face in my neck sobbing uncontrollably. Since Tim was taking care of Justin I focused on Koko as I sank to the floor leaning back against the wall as I slowly rocked the younger boy soothingly.
“It’s alright Justin.” I heard Tim’s soft voice trying to soothe the other boy. “Uncle Will showed up just in time to stop everything before Koko was…before things got too far. Believe me, Koko’s fine and he wasn’t…,” Tim paused because he hiccupped with a small sob escaping his lips as he tried to stave off his own emotional turmoil. “Koko is just fine.” Tim asserted as Justin’s watery filled eyes glanced over towards us sitting on the floor.
Walking over towards us the golden eyed boy kneeled down wrapping his arms around both of us leaning his weight into us. “I’m so sorry Koko. I was wondering what had happened to you when you guys didn’t show up at the gym last week. I asked the coach, but he wasn’t sure either. I should have known when I saw the coach a bit shook up about something a couple of days later. I’m sorry I didn’t call or anything.” The boy sniffled getting Koko’s attention as he slowly turned in my arms facing his friend.
“What?” Koko asked.
“I should have called or something.” The boy replied as Koko shook his head.
“Justin, how could you know? Besides, you had your own problems. If anything daddy and I should have known something was wrong. I mean the bruises all the time. Sure it happens doing that Parkour stuff or whatever, but not that bad all the time. I don’t know why we hadn’t figured it out sooner. I feel awful because we continued to let something bad happened to you.” Koko sniffled as he now wrapped his arms around the other boy.
Somehow we managed to get through the morning. I let Tim get breakfast started for the boys while I made my phone calls. After getting cleaned up I took Justin to the doctor who ended up being livid with the boy’s medication. He explained that Justin had actually been prescribed a narcotic, which his body obviously couldn’t tolerate so well. The man had truly been upset saying such prescriptions were uncalled for and smacked of being very close to an unconscionable act. Evidently it was a fairly typical occurrence in state run institutions in order to keep their charges quiet and calm, but still our doctor was vehemently opposed to such practices. After checking over Justin’s injuries he left both cream medications in place, but insisted Justin merely needed a mild pain medication for his aches and pains saying he was young and would recuperate rapidly.
After getting back home we were surrounded by the other boys inquiring to how things went. They introduced Arty to Justin before heading out to the pool. I could see Justin hesitating a moment when he saw the boys stripping out of their clothes simply jumping into the pool completely naked. While Tim watched off to the side, Koko and Arty coaxed the other boy out of his clothes. Arty’s expression remained neutral when he saw the bruising so I was fairly sure both Tim and Koko had explained the situation to the dark haired boy.
Opening up the sliding door I yelled out. “Justin, be sure to put on plenty of sunscreen. We don’t want to end up at the doctor’s office again because your pale naked ass got burned by the sun. That’s one explanation I don’t want to try justifying.” I chuckled seeing the boy’s expression at my casual comment before adding, “Oh…I also want you guys out of the pool and under the shade after thirty minutes. In this sun even with the sunscreen poor Justin will fry”.
After the initial protest of the time issue, Arty and Koko of course immediately complied with the whole sunscreen matter as they began to lightly rub the goopy cream all over the other boy being careful with his bruising as he simply stood there having no choice but to comply. Even though Arty had been warned about the bruising ahead of time, he obviously hadn’t been warned about something else as he now gasped in surprise when he saw Justin pop a boner.
“What the fuck…how does something so small get so damn big?” Arty exclaimed reaching out towards the other boy getting a big laugh out of all the other boys with this now turning into an inside joke.
Of course Arty was immediately curious about it as Justin looked around for help because both Arty and Koko had him surrounded not in the least bit concerned about how they were groping and scrutinizing his boy baubles a bit too closely. Tim finally came to the rescue telling the boys to knock it off before Justin had an accident. Of course this sent everyone into another round of outburst breaking the whole sex and size tension as they broke off simply having fun with one another in the pool.
The boys were in and out of the water all day being mindful of keeping lots of sunscreen applied to Justin’s pale body. They made sure to take breaks in-between ducking for cover under the shade or coming into the house to cool off for a while. I kept a close eye on Justin to make sure he didn’t burn. It was satisfying to see how the boys watched over their newest guest and friend.
They seemed to be getting along really well feeling comfortable around one another so it really didn’t surprise me when at one point the topic of Justin’s street life came up. The boy was simply matter of fact about the whole incident telling them what he had to do in order to survive. He told them how in many instances he didn’t have much to eat, often going to sleep hungry. How he had to hustle his body for the basics, but also to pay for other things that were important to him like the gym fees. At this news I heard Koko begin to sniffle at the unfairness of it all. But the most chilling comment came about when he explained how often he went to sleep frightened that someone would come along in the middle of the night assaulting him for their own personal sexual pleasure, or haul him away making a sex slave out of him. Evidently kids disappeared every day on the streets.
This moment was a very sobering experience for the boys as they all realized their own trivial problems paled in comparison to what many other people like Justin were going through. Yes, all of the boys surrounding Justin have had some hardships in their lives, but they began to realize that having family and friends surrounding you that love and support you made a big difference in life. It made them realize that if this could happen to someone they knew like Justin without them even knowing he was having these problems, then what about others. Could it be that some of their friends they took for granted were also having big problems. It opened up their eyes to the hardships of the world in general. Even Tim, who had heard some of it from Justin earlier this morning in the shower, became a bit somber by his friend’s account of his life thus far.
During lunch we chatted some more with me bringing up the gymnastics issue. Justin got a little quiet about it, and asked if he could stay home today instead of going to practice. Koko returned back yesterday for the first day since the incident, but since Justin didn’t want to go I figured we could skip it for today. I could tell the issue was weighing on Justin for whatever reasons, but didn’t want to pry leaving it up to him to explain things when he was ready.
After a suitable break I allowed the boys out to the pool once more, but helped set up the large umbrellas all around creating extra shade inside the pool area which helped protect Justin even more from burning. He was doing fine for the moment, but if we weren’t careful he’d end up red as a lobster since he didn’t have a tan yet. I suppose living on the streets you always made sure to wear some sort of clothing no matter what the weather just in case something went wrong. Even though it was summertime, it still cooled off enough in the evening hours to be worrisome for those who are homeless if they for whatever reason had to move on. So it was a matter of survival tactics which probably contributed to Justin not having a tan this late in the summer.
Once I had the boys taken care of I left them alone to their fun heading back inside. Sitting in the living room so I could keep an eye on the boys I fished out my phone scrolling through my contact’s list. Koko’s gymnastics coach answered the other end as I explained the situation to him regarding Justin letting him know we wouldn’t be in today. He sounded relieved on the other end because when Justin hadn’t shown up for practice he had become worried so called the phone number listed on the application he had received from the boy when he first signed up. Of course the number was a false one.
The man still couldn’t believe how he had been duped, but things started to make sense now. Things like only meeting Justin’s father the one time meaning the boy must have had someone come in to act the part of a parent. Then there were other things like paying his fees in cash every month. Even though he was on a so called scholarship program for families with low income, there was still a nominal fee involved. Most parents paid by check or by other means, hardly ever cash. Then of course there were times Justin didn’t have the money so the coach had given him a grace period. Yet, despite all odds the boy had somehow managed to always pay, never missing a day of practice until a few days ago. There were times he didn’t go with them on some of their road trip competitions which required overnight stays in a hotel along with meals. Obviously he couldn’t afford those trips so hadn’t been able to go on those.
Everything now began to make sense to the coach as he genuinely felt bad about the whole scenario. We talked for a long time on the phone with me now understanding part of Justin’s reluctance of going to the gym. Evidently his monthly fee was due, and with the current situation he couldn’t afford to pay it since he was no longer hustling his body. I knew this was probably eating at the boy because throughout his ordeal this had been the one thing he had sacrificed for the most. He was now confronted with the choice of either having a stable home and life versus hustling himself out for his beloved gymnastics. Of course I’d never let it get that far no matter what. Even if he was placed in another foster home I’d be more than willing to pay his fees allowing him to continue with his beloved sport.
The rest of the day passed us by pleasantly enough as I tucked Justin into bed after having applied the salve on his scraps and bruises. I also marveled at how quickly his bruises seemed to be healing up just like the doctor had indicated. There were still some nasty yellowish green discoloration in places, but his skin was already beginning to turn a darker shade from the sun helping to blend it in a bit more. I was glad we had been careful about him not getting sun burned.
“Did you have a good day?” I asked the boy who smiled nodding his head.
“Yeah…it’s been a while since I’ve had one. You know simply being able to relax and have fun. Thanks Mr. Will.”
“No worries Justin. I want you to know you are safe here with us. Tomorrow’s going to be a bit hectic around here though, but I want you to have fun at Koko’s birthday party alright?” I smiled at him as I patted the back of his hand while he nodded his head looking a bit worried.
“Listen Justin it is only going to be a few of Koko’s friends and their families so don’t worry, but there will be some coming too that do have an interest in your case. The judge who helped me get you out of juvenile hall along with Miss Riverside who is overseeing your case will be there. Both of them are friends of ours though because they helped out with the adoption process of Koko. You have to trust me when I tell you they only have your best interest at heart. They are good people Justin so give them a chance.” I stated giving him heads up about tomorrow so it wouldn’t catch him by surprise as he squirmed around nervously now.
We sat there quietly as I let him digest the information. “They won’t take me away from you…will they?” He asked nervously making me smile affectionately.
“No…they are only here for Koko’s birthday, but remember we are all looking for a good home where you will be happy so yes someday you will be leaving.” I told him as he bit his lower lip nervously his eyes watering up up.
“Don’t cry Justin because that’s a good thing. You will have a family who will love and care for you. It doesn’t mean you still won’t be a part of our family. No matter what happens Koko and I will always be a part of your family. I know you want to live here with us Justin, but it wouldn’t be fair to you. I do promise though that no matter what happens it will be your choice in the end.” I assured him as he gazed at me incredulously.
“You mean I will actually get to choose my own family. I mean…if you find one I will get to decide if I go with them or not?”
The boy seemed to perk up a bit at this new information as I nodded my head. “Of course you will. I mean the Judge, Miss Riverside, and I are here to help you find a family, but it will ultimately be up to you. After all we won’t be able to tie or lock you up keeping you from running away. That is why all of us have to work together so in the end it will be your choice too in regards to who you decide to live with.”
“Wow…I didn’t know that’s how it works.” He commented making me chuckle.
“Normally it isn’t, but you are a special case.” I stated leaning over kissing the side of his lips.
“Feel better?” I ask him as he smiled back nodding his head.
“Good, tonight let’s hope you won’t have those awful nightmares. I have a feeling the medication is what was the culprit.” I assured him smiling conspiratorially at him. “Tonight you should try dreaming of Tim, and all the pleasurable things you plan on doing with him.” I whispered in his ears getting a giggle out of him along with a playful shove.
“Geeze for real Mr. Will…no wonder why Koko acts the way he does. He’s just like his dad.” He stated good naturedly while also meaning what he said about me being Koko’s dad.
After our chuckle I ran my fingers through his short thin brown hair. “Thanks for that Justin…I mean with the whole dad thing. I love my little boy so much, and to hear things like that from his friends makes my heart soar. You’re such a special kid Justin, and I’m glad you’ve entered our lives. You’ve made it a brighter place for us.” I whispered softly leaning over kissing him good night once more before getting up.
After leaving Justin I entered Koko’s room tucking him in as well. We snuggled up together for a bit as I held him in my arms until he faded off to sleep. Despite some of the turmoil at the beginning of the day, he had managed to push them aside being his usual happy go lucky self. He had a big gentle heart that brought out the best in people all around him. It was like he had a way of sucking people into his little orbit giving them all a piece of the goodness inside of him. He was such a beautiful boy in every way as I watched him for a little while as he slept. His features had such a peaceful countenance as all the cares of the world faded away in his slumbering state.
The next morning Koko woke me up in the usual manner climbing into bed with me to snuggle up. I enjoyed these calm moments with him as we lay huddled under the warm covers. As always he was sporting his little boy erection as I ran my hands up and down his warm back feeling him quivering with the affectionate sensual like touch.
“Mmmmm you smell delicious.” I sighed making him giggle. “Happy birthday sport.” I continued as he yawned thanking me holding me even tighter.
“Thanks dad.” He exhaled softly his breath brushing up against my nape in a ticklish sensation making my thin fine hairs stand up along the back of my neck.
Reaching over the smaller boy I opened up one of the drawer on my nightstand pulling out a fairly decent sized flat package with some heft and weight to it. “I’ve got something for you.” I whispered softly handing him the package wrapped in blue birthday wrapper with images of ribbons, sparkles, and funny looking hats.
The smaller boy smiled at me as he ripped open the paper looking at the contents before gazing back towards me. “What’s this?” He asked me curiously.
“Open it up and read the first page.” I suggested as he flipped open the large scrap book like object reading it out loud.
“For my son, so he will never forget his past while always looking forward to his future. You’ve been the joy of my life and the breath of air in my lungs. Watching you grow into a wonderful person is what saw me through some of my roughest days. You’ve blessed me with your presence; always know that you were the light of my life. Love Daddy.” Koko sniffled as he began to leaf through some of the pages as streaks of wetness slithered down the side of his cheeks.
“It’s a journal of sorts Koko from your dad, but more. In a way it is a journal plus a scrap book all wrapped up into one. In those pages you will find your father’s most intimate thoughts along with pictures of your most momentous occasions. There are all sorts of items like ticket stubs, notes on napkins, drawings, and anything you can think of that was a part of your life and your parents. Even pictures of your mom, aunt, and grandmother are inside those pages along with his thoughts. It’s a journal of your life with your parents Koko, something your father spent a tremendous amount of time putting together for you. It is a treasure beyond belief because it holds his most intimate thoughts…all for you. It is a piece of your family Koko, something to hold and treasure in your heart.” I whispered to him stroking his cheek as he looked into my eyes before collapsing into my arms.
“Oh dad, thank you for giving this to me. How did you get this? I mean I didn’t see it in storage.” He asked me as I held him in my arms.
“Well, your father had left instructions for his legal firm regarding it. He had directed them that they were to hang on to the journal, and only hand it over to whoever adopted you. If that didn’t happen then they were to hang on to the journal until you were older. I thought you should have it now because I knew you’d appreciate it.” I told him softly as he lifted up the heavy book setting it aside looking at another book beneath it.
“There’s two of them?” He asked me as I smiled.
“No, this one is from me.” I chuckled opening it up to the first page for him as he read what it said.
“To my beloved son as he journeys through his new life.” Koko read as he flipped it open smiling noticing that the first few pages where filled with pictures I had taken since he arrived.
“I thought maybe you could start your own journal and scrap book.” I smiled nervously as Koko looked up and threw himself on me.
“Oh dad, thank you so much; not only for daddy’s scrap book, but also for being so thoughtful with giving me one for myself. I can’t believe daddy did that for me. There seems to be so much in the book. I know there are a lot of good memories in it.” He sighed burying his face in the crook of my neck as we simply cuddled together for a few minutes.
“I love you so much, and I loved daddy so much. I miss him…sometimes so much so that my heart aches, but when I’m with you it all seems to be better not hurting so much anymore.” The smaller boy confided to me.
“I know buddy, and it is alright to miss someone we love.” I whispered as I simply held him in my arms cuddling with him enjoying the sweet fragrance and warmth from his tiny body.
We snuggled for a little while more in the stillness of the early morning hours while Koko quietly leafed through some of the pages of the journal his father had left him until I finally broke the silence. “Come-on buddy we better get up. We’ve got a lot of things to get done before everyone arrives later on this afternoon. You can put your journals away in your room.” I suggested as he smiled back at me nodding his head.
We got up pausing long enough for Koko to set his journals on his desk before heading out into the living room gently waking up Justin. The boy had slept uneventfully throughout the night looking much better and refreshed this morning than the previous one. It was obvious he had been in need of a good nights sleep as he folded away his bed back into the couch. There was no rush in our routine because Koko’s party wouldn’t start until later on around five o’clock in the afternoon.
Several days back I had decided it would be nice to sort of have a late afternoon early evening kind of birthday pool party for my little boy. This way we would have several advantages to capitalize on for our region. First we would still have the warmth and sun for a few hours before settling into a fantastic view of the sunset. Then as darkness began to settle around us we would light up the garden courtyard with soft lighting. The pool would also be lit up with hundreds of different colored chemical glow sticks.
These small five inch long plastic tubes glowed for about eight hours in different colors of reds, oranges, yellows, green, and blues because of the chemical reactions created when you bend them. I had little weights attached to them so that once we bent them we could toss them into the pool so that they would sink to the bottom. The water would remain warm enough from the sunshine throughout the day so the kids would still be able to swim at night.
Also, holding the party later in the day it gave us plenty of time to get everything together without being so rushed. To be honest we had a lot of fun decorating the place getting it ready for the party. We kept things simple for the most part, but it would still be colorful and festive. We had opened up all the umbrellas attaching colorful balloons adding extra shade around the area along with lawn chairs or other chairs around tables. We set up two pop up tents with craft tables and supplies for anyone who wanted to get creative.
There were all sorts of water games in place in case anyone wanted to have a bit of wet fun. Things like beach balls, volley ball net, and all sorts of water guns and weaponry, which I figured would end up being more dangerous for the adults if anything. We even set out plenty of sunscreen tubes all over the place for our guests to use. Koko also wanted everyone to have a little gift bag so we created those which included a plastic encased waterproof camera along several small toys that could be utilized in the pool. Finally, I had a piñata put together that would hang above the pool later on tonight. It was filled with the multi colored glow sticks without any weights attached so they would float on the surface of the water. This way the kids could fish them out to use later on for themselves when it was dark.
There were all sorts of snacks to go around like various fruits, cheeses, and veggie trays not to mention the typical chips and sweet treats. I would be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, and shish kabobs for the guests on the outside barbeque. In addition I had set up a taco bar table outside allowing guests to create their own tacos with: chips, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, hard and soft tortillas, shredded Mexican cheese, chicken, beef, beans, and shredded lettuce. Finally, I also had several large plastic bins with ice and water located in various places to keep cold bottles of water, soda pop, and juice.
Now as guests began to arrive it was fun seeing them looking around. Some of them have been here before, but others never had seen our place so they simply looked around in stunned amazement. Of course among the first arrivals was Elena with her daughters and Arty followed closely by Mary and her son Tim. A few other kids from around the neighborhood that Koko had befriended and invited also began to trickle in.
The kids were already running around having fun when Judge Harrington showed up with his wife and three grandkids. I had to say his grandkids were stunningly beautiful. All three of them had bleach blond hair and deep oceanic swirling blue eyes with similar soft facial features. They looked very prim and proper, but adorably cute dressed in their white colored polo style shirts and khaki colored shorts. You could tell they came from families of wealth and were all related. The boys were very polite shaking my hand saying their greeting with ease of practice as the judge introduced them to me.
Koko spotted Judge Harrington and immediately came running over nearly knocking him over when he leaped into the man’s arms hugging him tightly and even kissing him on the cheek. Arty took his time walking over while the three grandkids standing next to their grandmother simply looked on in stunned amazement at this kind of exuberant behavior. Koko could have cared less what they might have thought holding on to the elderly statesman as if his life depended on it.
“Oh Uncle Harrington I’m so glad you came. Thank you for letting me keep daddy. We all know he’s high maintenance, but he’s a keeper anyway. Besides he doesn’t mind being trained properly.” The boy chuckled as the judge let out a huge guffaw at Koko’s joke while his wife simply smiled pleasantly seemingly enjoying the energetic display she had just witnessed glancing over at her own three grandchildren a bit longingly.
Setting Koko down the judge ruffled the boy’s hair as he introduced his wife to the rambunctious boy. “Glad to meet you Auntie Harrington.” Koko greeted her stepping over giving her a big hug and kiss on the cheek as well before stepping back and blushing a little.
“Oh…I’m sorry. I suppose I should have asked first if it is alright to call you uncle and auntie. I mean…now that this stuffy court mumbo jumbo thing is over with I’d rather think of you as sort of my extended family like I do with Auntie Mary and Elena. If I could I’d legally adopt all of you as my aunts and uncle, but do you realize there’s no such court procedure. I swear…I even looked it up on the computer.” Koko rambled on in his usual perky way making the Harrington’s giggle at his bubbly personality forcing the judge to hold up his hand in order to slow down the vivacious boy.
“Koko it is perfectly fine to refer us to uncle and auntie if you want, and yes I knew that about adopting aunts and uncles. After all you inherit them when you adopt a mom and dad.” He pointed out.
“Yeah, but only if they are brothers and sisters from the parents you’ve adopted. I mean look at Auntie Mary and Elena, and now you and your wife.” Koko pointed out. “Anyway, maybe you will think on it some more and change it.” The boy smiled mischievously at the man before he turned to the three boys standing there gawking in utter amazement with how at ease Koko seemed to be around their grandparents.
“Oh Koko I hope you don’t mind me bringing my grandkids with me?” Judge Harrington asked as he introduced them to him.
“Wow…they sure are cute uncle Harrington. Are you sure you didn’t pick them out at the kid factory or something?” Koko giggled teasingly as he glanced at the judge winking at him and his wife before looking back over to his three guests.
“I’m glad you guys came to my first birthday party. Well technically twelfth, but first one with my new dad. Anyway, there are rules for the party.” Koko grinned mischievously trying to keep a straight face while I simply rolled my eyes knowing the boy was up to something while both the judge and his wife smiled at one another enjoying Koko’s playfulness.
“Oh…yes…of course.” The eldest boy, about the same age as Koko, stated standing up straight waiting for the rules while the two slightly younger boys also looked on attentively as a pause settled over us. “Well?” The eldest boy inquired.
“Well what?” Koko asked innocently.
“You said there were rules at this party.” The older one seemed to get a bit exasperated.
“Oh yeah…I thought you guys already knew. I mean…after all it is the same for most parties. Anyway here goes. Rule number one is that you are to have fun at all times. Rule number two is if in doubt check on rule number one. Pretty simple really.” Koko giggle getting another bellow of laughter from the judge at the stunned look on his three grandson’s faces.
As we all began to calm down Koko looked at the Harrington’s grandkids. “Did you guys bring bathing suits?” He asked as the older boy merely lifted up his small backpack he was carrying indicating they had brought some with them. “Oh good…dad can we get changed into our swimming trunks and go swimming?” He asked me pleadingly.
“I don’t know Koko…maybe after everyone’s had something to eat.” I suggested.
“Geeze…it’s not like we are going to run out of food. Besides, maybe it would be good for us to work up our appetites.” He suggested cheekily as I rolled my eyes at him.
“Yeah…sure I don’t see why not.” I chuckled caving in as Koko gave me a quick hug.
Releasing me he grabbed the two younger Harrington grandkids by the hand dragging them with him leaving Arty to grab on to the older boy as they were forced to follow along. Several of the girls spotted the boys heading inside so began gathering their stuff heading into the small change room building next to the pool. Anymore it seemed routine for the girls to confiscate the small change room while boys ended up heading inside the house.
Directing the judge and his wife over towards one of the table we chuckled as we watched his grandkids getting hauled away by Koko and Arty. From the corner of my eye I noticed Tim and Justin heading inside as well so they could get changed into their swim gear. I know the older boy had promised Justin he’d bring over one of his smaller swim trunks for him to use since he didn’t want anyone to faint if he went starkers.
“Will my boy, you are one lucky man.” The judge chuckled shaking his head. “That’s one spitfire of a son you’ve got there. That kid sure has a way about him, and I am completely amazed how he’s rebounded from everything.”
“Yeah…I really lucked out with that one, but to be honest his dad was the same exact way when he was younger. I miss those times.” I sighed as the Harrington’s nodded their head.
“These days I really wonder about the kids.” Mrs. Harrington smiled at me. “I mean you should have heard our grandkids in the car when we pulled up. They took one look at the neighborhood and the people, not to mention the parking garage and begged us to take them home. Sometimes I really wonder about how our son and daughter along with their respective spouses are raising their kids in a setting that is buffering them from normal society.”
“Don’t get us wrong Will.” Judge Harrington added. “We love our grandkids, and they really are great kids, but they are like a bunch of stuffy shirts…you know what I mean?” He asked while I nodded my head knowing the type since I had to run in those circles due to my work.
A few minutes later I saw the boys marching out of the house chatting away; except, the three Harrington boys whose faces were all flushed red as they glanced at each other a bit shyly. I had to smile at them though because they were so damn cute in their sky blue matching Quick Silver Stomping board shorts with a tie on the front, pocket on the left thigh, and the quick silver logo on the bottom of the seam on the left leg. Koko of course was wearing his Boys’ Husky Colorblocked pieced swim trunks. Tim and Justin were wearing a pair of Epic Threads Boys' Solid Trunks with a flap cargo pocket on the right leg and a white hook and loop drawstring tie closure. Justin’s was a slightly faded red pair since they were Tim’s from last year, while the older boy’s was a lime green color.
Koko ambled towards us with the other Harrington boys tagging along. “Hey Uncle Harrington I think you might want to put some sunscreen on these guys so they don’t burn. We’ve got to do the same thing for Justin because he’s kind of pale too.” The younger boy stated grabbing one of the tubes from off the table so that he could put it on Justin while the Harrington’s started in on their grandkids noticing them still blushing.
“What’s wrong boys?” Mrs. Harrington asked with Koko piping up.
“Geeze, I thought all three of them were going to faint dead away when they saw us guys getting changed out of our clothes into our swim trunks. You’d think they’d never seen another boy naked or something. I mean I don’t know what the big deal is…after all it wasn’t as if we were in the change room over there with the other girls or anything.” Koko giggled shaking his head.
“I’ve never seen anyone like these three guys being so bashful about themselves. You’d think they’d have gotten changed often enough in front of each other not to be so doggone shy. Besides…I don’t know why they are so upset. It’s not as if they don’t look cute butt naked and all. They do need to work on their tan though.” Koko added pointedly grinning and shaking his head at the other three boy’s paleness while I just about had some water squirt out of my nose at his straightforward comment noticing Mrs. Harrington hide her smile behind her hand.
The only one who didn’t bother hiding his reaction was Judge Harrington as he bellowed out loud, his guffaw bouncing around jovially throughout the area as it carried the length of the outdoor garden courtyard. “Good for you Koko. I’ve been trying to get those boys to loosen up for years now. You’d think they’ve got something different swinging between their legs the way they act sometimes.” The judge chuckled shaking his head while Koko, Arty, Tim, and Justin all glanced towards the three blond haired boys crotches’ smiling knowingly now at what was actually swinging between those lanky legs having gotten a good look while getting changed.
The three Harrington grandkids didn’t even notice the glances as all three of them gawked at their grandfather in shock with their pale cheeks turning a healthy ruddy color. “Oh stop looking at me like that.” The old man clucked dismissively giving his eldest grandson a friendly smack on the rump.
“All three of you boys are like a bunch of stuffy old shirts. It’ll do you some good to hang around these other younger characters for a bit. Heaven forbid should all four of your parents drop dead because of you guys maybe ending up having some fun for a change.” The judge teased his grandkids playfully as him and his wife finished applying sunscreen onto their creamy pale skin before urging them to go have fun.
While everyone’s kids began to play in the pool I started up the barbeque. There was plenty of food and drinks around for everyone to start snacking on as people sort of mingled around enjoying the garden and setting. The way we had everything set up it was obvious this was a help yourself to whatever you want type of party. We kept it that way for a reason wanting this to be a more informal kind of birthday party.
I had a few fans strategically place around creating a sort of cool breeze in the courtyard making for a pleasant time. Before long even Miss Riverside joined us along with Officer Orland and his wife. Even the boys’ gymnastics coach dropped by bringing along his wife and some of the kids from the team he had indicated would love to be involved in a party like this.
Koko welcomed everyone giving them their small gift bag along with a warm tender heartfelt hug not in the least bit embarrassed about it. He was so happy today letting me know often how much he loved me. It was as if something changed in him over the last week despite the hardships or maybe because of them. He’d always been warm and cuddly, but anymore he was more open with his display of affection. To be honest it was nice to see the transformation.
Sensing that there was more to this party than just Koko, both Elena and Mary helped by keeping an eye on the kids catering to them as the need arose. Those two were a god send, and I let them know as much. By helping out it left me time to sit down with Judge Harrington, Officer Orland and his wife, Miss Riverside, and finally the gymnastics coach and his wife to discuss some of the issues involving Koko and Justin. In a casual setting like this it was easier to discuss things in an open and honest way while we all tried to find ways that would help these boys the most as we watched our charges having a fun time.
At one point I noticed that Justin had disappeared and been gone for a while now as I looked around scanning the area. I caught a glimpse of Koko as he ducked into the house. My discussion with the others had broken off for a few minutes as some in our group had made their way over to get a bite to eat. While the others mingled around the food table I took the opportunity to slip into the house.
As I approached Koko’s room I heard his voice so I made my way over. “What’s wrong Justin? I thought you were having fun? Are you feeling sick?” Koko asked sounding concerned as I paused just outside his door allowing things to unfold without interfering.
“No…it really is a great party Koko. I mean not too big or small with a lot of great kids. Arty really has a great family, but I can understand why he hangs around here so much. Can you imagine being surrounded by all those strong headed women?” Justin giggled eliciting a chuckle from Koko as well before he sighed softly.
“Yeah his sisters are really nice and all. Even his half sister from his dad’s previous marriage is nice. She had some problems with her real mom so Elena said she could stay for the summer if she wanted. I guess it sort of worked out, but still I guess Arty needs to get away from it at times.” Koko responded as it got quiet again.
“You should probably be getting back to the others Koko. It is your party after all.” Justin tried to sound upbeat.
“No, not until you tell me what’s wrong? Other than Arty and Tim who are more like family to me, you’re like my bestest of friends. So why are you sitting here in my room all alone?”
“It’s kind of hard to explain Koko. I mean everyone brought you gifts and everything, but I didn’t bring you anything. I don’t have anything to give you.” He started to sniffle as I snuck a peek around the corner seeing him crumble in Koko’s arms as he laid his head in the smaller boy’s lap.
Whispering softly while Koko stroked the side of his face the boy poured his soul out to the younger boy. “You are my best pal in the whole world Koko. I mean sure there’s Tim, but that’s different. It’s you who became my friend that very first time we met. I knew you were special like that…as a buddy. I’ve never been able to have a ‘real’ friend before…because of…um…you know…not until you came along. Then I simply couldn’t stop it. Now it’s your birthday and I can’t even give you a present.” Justin sniffled, sitting back up wiping away the dampness from the corners of his eyes.
“Justin…,” Koko smiled softly at his friend who simply sat there looking down at his lap. “Justin…please look at me.” The smaller boy asked his friend who finally looked up gazing into the younger boy’s eyes as they sat there for a moment in silence.
“You don’t understand Justin.” Koko began as he tried to collect his thoughts. “Daddy asked me a couple of days ago what I wanted for my birthday. I knew I could have asked for pretty much whatever I wanted, but I really didn’t want or need anything…except for…,” Koko paused as he reached over towards his friend taking the boy’s hand into his own.
“Except for what Koko?” Justin asked curiously now as he furled his eyebrows.
“I was a mess that night Justin…well basically the whole week. Somehow though the fog sort of lifted from my mind that night as daddy held me in his arms. He was with me the whole time taking care of me. I was like a little baby after I was attacked…totally in a different place, but he held me, fed me, and even cleaned me up when I wet the bed. He was simply there loving me the whole time like I were his for real flesh and blood son. Even before the adoption was final I knew he’d make a wonderful dad, but when I woke up crawling out of my dark hole I understood it isn’t flesh and blood that creates a real family.” Koko explained to his friend pausing for a few moments as Justin tried to absorb what was said amazed at the multifaceted depth of his young friend.
“Yeah, you are so lucky. He’s a great dad and friend that’s for sure, but what does it have to do with what you wanted for your birthday?” He asked curiously.
Koko shrugged his shoulders. “Nothing….everything. I mean he asked me, and all I wanted was you. I simply told him ‘go get him,’ and he knew me so well that he understood what I meant so he went and did just that. Don’t you get it Justin…your present to me is ‘you.’ It’s all I wanted and you are here safe and sound. So no matter what else I get from anyone else I already have the best birthday present ever. I’ve never ever asked for any kind of birthday gift from anyone before…not even from my real daddy, but I knew I had to have you so dad went and got you. Basically you have given me the best birthday present ever.” Koko asserted reaching over giving his best friend a hug.
Justin began to cry. “Oh Koko…what did I ever do to deserve such a good friend. I’m a nobody…a dirty filthy whore of a nobody. You are the most beautiful boy in the world, so pure, innocent, and wholesome while I’m a filthy nobody.” Justin began to sob leaning over with his face in his hands while Koko simply shook his head.
“Stop it Justin. You are not some filthy whore…you are simply a boy who had no choice. You are my best friend so that makes you somebody. I’m the one who’s lucky Justin. I have my family now with daddy, Arty, and Tim. I also have a very good friend who I love and care about. All you guys make me happy. So please Justin…for me…please sit up and don’t cry anymore.” Koko smiled tenderly at his friend who nodded his head trying to grin back his small body shuddering for a moment before he began to compose himself.
“Thanks Koko.” Justin replied wiping away the wetness from his cheeks taking in a deep breath to calm and gather himself together.
“Here…I want you to have this.” Koko reached over to the picture on his end table. “It’s the Saint Sebastian medallion my real daddy gave me shortly before he died. I want you to have it.” Koko told his friend who began to shake his head emphatically.
“I…I can’t take that Koko. Your dad gave you the medallion. It’s too important.” Justin protested.
“Yes it is important, and it is why I want you to have it so that you always know you matter. Besides, see here.” Koko stated pulling a medallion from around his neck showing the older boy.
“When I first came here dad gave it to me after he got back from his trip. This was before we decided to adopt each other. He gave one to Tim and Arty too. Saint Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes and gardeners so he got Tim one with the lacrosse on it, Arty one with the gardener on it, and me the one with gymnastics. It was the same one my real dad had given me, but I had misplaced it. Dad didn’t know it when he got it for me so the one I wear from him is very special. I was feeling bad about having misplaced my first one, but dad said it would turn up and it did.” Koko laughed as he shook his head.
“Wow, kind of weird how things work out.” Justin commented.
“Yeah, that’s why I want you to have this one because it is the same one I’m wearing, and I know it will protect and watch over you.” Koko insisted as he slipped the other medallion around Justin’s neck giving the boy a hug.
“Thanks Koko…no matter what I will always treasure it.” Justin sighed returning his best friend’s embrace as it got quiet in the room.
At that moment my heart swelled with such pride for what my son had just done. He had given over a part of himself freely to his friend. By giving the boy something he held near and dear to his heart, he was sharing a piece of not only himself, but his real father as well. It was a pure act of unselfishness.
“Hey guys…how are you boys doing.” I smiled entering the room walking over to the bed sitting down next to Koko giving him a hug.
“We’re doing great dad. We were just talking before heading back out.”
“I see. Are you guys having fun?” I asked draping my arm over Koko’s shoulder.
“Yeah dad thanks for everything.”
“How about you Justin?”
“Yeah Mr. Will, it really is a great party. The best one I’ve ever been to. I really appreciate you including me.”
“Hmmmm, I suppose you’ve never had a birthday party of your own?” I asked sadly as he shook his head.
“Well, we will have to see about changing that. How about Koko and I host your birthday party coming up in a few week…would you like that?” I asked as he looked at me a bit shocked.
“Um…yeah sure, but…uh…,” he hesitated.
“But what?” I asked.
“What if I’m no longer here?” He replied looking down.
“Does it really matter? I mean if you are somewhere else by then it doesn’t mean that you can’t still have your party here? I’m sure the new family wouldn’t mind us hosting your party. After all we are family.” I pointed out getting a smile out of him as he began to realize that no matter what I intended he be a part of our family.
“Alright…if you think it will be okay.”
“Good then it is settled. So you guys come on out and rejoin the party. Justin before you do I need to talk with you.” I began seeing him get a little frightened before I held up my hand calming him down.
“Don’t worry Justin it isn’t anything earth shattering. Remember how I told you there is a group of us trying to help out, well we need to talk with you about it. I promise it will only take a few minutes.”
When we got outside Koko made his way back to the other kids, while Justin followed me over towards Judge Harrington and the others. “By the way the Saint Sebastian medallion Koko gave you looks good on you. I’m proud of you both.” I whispered draping my arm over his shoulder.
When Justin saw Coach Westerly he hesitated a moment, but I squeezed his shoulders reassuringly. As promised I let the boy get back to the party after we all sat down and talked a little about his future. It was good to see the extra spring to his step after our discussion when he left heading towards the other kids. It was then I knew this had been the proper course of action. It would help with the transition when it came time.
As Justin made his way to his friends I noticed Elena’s step daughter sitting off to the side alone as if troubled by her thoughts. Making my way over I sat down next to her under the shaded umbrella enjoying the soft breeze. The girl looked up at me giving me a forced smile out of politeness.
“So are you having a good time?” I inquired as she shrugged her shoulders. “You’re Selena…right?” I smiled at her getting a nod this time. “Elena’s told me a lot about you. She’s really happy you came to stay with them this summer. She said you’ve been an absolute delight.” I chuckled getting a look of surprise from the girl.
“Really…she said that?”
“Yup…her words. I swear it’s true.” I assured her as she sighed shaking her head.
“She’s been really nice to me. All of them have. I’m not looking forward to going back home. I love my mom and all, but I hate my life there.” The girl confided in me.
“I see…have you talked to Elena about it?” I asked her arching my eyebrows as the girl looked down shaking her head.
“No…what good would it do. I can’t stay here. I mean Elena can’t afford for me to stay with them. I’m staying in her youngest daughter’s room while she bunks with her older sister so it really isn’t fair to the girls either. They’ve never complained about it either telling me they are simply happy I’m there so don’t mind sharing a room. I’ve got a part time job, but she won’t even allow me to help pay for anything saying I should spend my money for womanly things.” She chuckled shaking her head.
“I see. Well to be honest she tells her daughters the same thing. They all work part time to help their mom by being able to buy their own clothes and all the girly make-up and things you young women need. I have it on good authority you women are high maintenance in this regard.” I chuckled teasing the girl playfully.
“You know with the jewelry, clothing, creams, make-up…well basically all the womanly stuff. Well in Elena’s mind if you girls work part time and pay for those extras on your own then it is contributing to the family. Her main responsibility is providing a roof over your heads, a safe place to stay, and enough to eat. The other stuff you girls do help out a lot.” I nodded my head having heard just how costly those girly things can get.
“Sure but Arty gives the money he earns here to his mom. So that’s not really fair.” She countered.
“Yeah, but that’s how he was raised and what’s expected of him. He’s the man of the house now. Besides, don’t kid yourself his mom doesn’t take all the money either. He gets to keep what he needs for himself, but let’s face it how much money does a twelve year old boy really need.” I chuckled. “It’s not like he puts on any make-up or have womanly hygiene needs.” I added as she blushed from my comment.
“Yeah…I suppose, but still they are pretty cramped in the small home and rooms, not to mention the money issue is still tight.”
“Hmmm, tell me is Koko’s cousin still living there or did he move out?”
“Oh…he moved out a while back. Why?”
“Well I think I’ve got the solution to the sleeping arrangements. You see Koko and his cousin shared a room together. It’s actually the largest one other than the one belonging to his mom. It’s about one and a half times larger than the one his sisters are sharing now. So Arty can move into the smaller room and the two sisters can move into the larger room.” I sat back watching her reaction.
“I’m not so sure. I mean it’s like now it is Arty who has to give up his room because of me.” She sighed looking at me quirkily when I busted up laughing.
“Listen Selena stop making excuses. Believe me Arty could care less about moving into a smaller room. He never spends any time in there other than to sleep. Heck for that matter he spends half the evenings over here sharing a room with Koko. I’m sure Arty’s sisters don’t mind sharing a room together. They will have the largest room so will have plenty of space.” I leaned forward taking her hand in mine squeezing it supportively.
“You really think so. I mean…you don’t think it would be too much for me to stay?”
“I’ll talk to Elena for you first. Then the two of you can sit down to hash out the arrangements. I’ll tell her you want to help out more than you are, but be warned she won’t let you work too many more hours once school starts. She’s pretty strict regarding education, but it doesn’t mean there won’t be other ways to help out. Also, in the near future I am going to need some specialized kind of help that I can pay you for. I’ll tell you about it later. In the meantime I’ll talk to her for you…alright?” I asked getting a smile from the girl.
“Thanks Mr. Will. Arty’s right you are a very kind person.”
“Thanks sweetie, now do me a favor and go have fun with the others. Don’t worry I promise it will all work out, and I always keep my promises.” I told her sincerely as she got up giving me a hug.
“I will, and again…thanks. This means a lot.”
That evening we had a beautiful sunset the arid landscape turning different shades of reds, oranges, yellows, and even purplish blues as the sun slowly went down giving off a soft radiance. As darkness descended on us the soft lighting around the garden provided a sense of intimacy. I let the kids start grabbing the glow sticks bending them before tossing them into the pool watching as brightly colored glow sticks dropped to the bottom. With all the kids contributing having fun, it took all of five minutes to have several hundred different shades of softly glowing sticks lighting up the bottom of the pool.
After that I set up the piñata giving them all a try at it to the laughter and shouts of everyone as pieces slowly broke apart. Then suddenly it was Tim who smacked it hard enough that the entire contents dumped out into the pool. Koko didn’t mind in the least as he joined everyone else who were jumping into the pool scrambling for the prizes. All the kids were splashing around playfully snatching at the unlit glow sticks bending the tubes until they snapped mixing the chemical contents which lit them up in various colors. The party lasted for several hours into the night with everyone having a blast.
Most everyone had already thanked us before they left when Koko and Arty wandered over with Judge Harrington’s grandkids in tow. I had to admit that the three boys looked adorably cute with their damp swim trunks hugging around their little boy baubles showing off the outlines of all their decent sized packages.
“Dad, would it be alright if the guys stayed for the night?” Koko asked as the three Harrington grandkids pleaded with their grandparents making the judge smile lovingly at the boys.
“I don’t think so boys, besides you didn’t bring your things for an overnight stay.” The judge’s wife interjected tactfully smiling warmly at the boys pleased they had opened up a bit.
Koko looked a bit sad about it, but I stepped in. “I tell you what, if the boys want, and it is alright with their folks, they can spend the night with you next week. We will make it a big sleep over with Arty, Tim, and Justin joining in as well. How does that sound?” I asked as I was nearly knocked over when all the boys rushed me at the same time.
“Well I suppose it’s settled then?” The judge chuckled as Koko dragged the boys into his room so they could get changed.
I suppose it was another chance for Koko to get a good look at the Harrington boys when they got changed getting naked. This time though it appeared as if the three blond boys didn’t mind being dragged away. It was almost as if they too were looking forward to seeing some eye candy. I even noticed the tenting on the front of the oldest Harrington boy’s bathing suit as he tried to discretely adjust his obvious erection making me chuckle to myself. I had a feeling there was going to be a lot of fooling around next week between the boys.
The judge shook my hand chuckling. “Thanks Will for finally breaking through to my grandkids. It’s really nice of you to let them come over next week. I don’t think they’ve had this much fun since…um…well geeze, I can’t even recall. Of course they’ve got their own friends and stuff, but they really don’t interact and play like this. You know…hard all the time just like us when we were growing up. It’s nice seeing the boys simply be boys.” He stated seriously.
“Hah…well if I know my boys they will have your boys stripped naked next week skinny dipping in the pool. Koko, Arty, Tim, and now Justin have gotten used to going starkers in the pool.” I warned him. “I’m not sure if that is the type of breaking in you had in mind.” I chuckled.
“Well if they do I hope you get some pictures. That I’ve got to see for myself.” The judge guffawed loudly holding his sides while shaking his head.
“I’m not so sure that’d be such a good idea. I’m liable to get thrown in jail or something.” I stated a bit more seriously.
Even though I’ve already taken some pictures of Koko, Arty, and Tim running around the pool naked in various states of excitement, I wasn’t so sure it was a good idea to do the same with Justin and the Harrington boys. With Justin it was because he was a recent addition around here, not to mention with all his bruising I thought he’d be a bit self conscious. Most of the time when I took pictures of the boys it was simply basic ones of them running around having fun without it being intrusive or posed. They were just so beautiful, and for the moment so unconcerned about being naked I simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity so had snapped a few innocent pictures of them running around the pool starkers. Of course I had all the files zipped up and encrypted just in case. Mary and Elena had seen some of the pictures, and didn’t mind feeling they were innocent enough.
“Well believe me if it is simply innocent stuff like skinny dipping then don’t worry about it too much. I’m so sick and tired of society twisting and turning everything into something evil. Besides, if you do take some pictures it will only remain with us, no one the wiser. For Pete’s sake it’s almost gotten to the point where parents can’t even take simple pictures of their kids in the tub or pool if they are naked. When that day arrives then all truly is lost for our country.” The judge stated getting an approving nod from his wife as they went inside to wait for the boys.
Most everyone else had already left with Mary and Elena promising to come over tomorrow to help out with getting things cleaned up. Now as I looked around I noticed there really wasn’t all that much to clean up. As people were leaving they naturally helped clean up after themselves even carting food inside putting them away. What was left could be taken care of tomorrow as I made my way inside. It was only a little after ten so not all that late yet as Koko and Justin hopped into the showers getting cleaned up. Before the boys headed to bed Justin asked Koko if he could help him with the salves. Of course there was plenty of giggling going on, but soon enough they came out of the bathroom heading for bed.
Tucking in Justin first I leaned over giving him a gentle kiss. “I had a really great time Mr. Will.” The boy stated hugging me and giving me a kiss back on the cheek making me smile appreciatively.
“That’s great Justin and your talk with the others?” I inquired raising my eyebrows questioningly.
“Yeah that worked out great too…thanks.” He replied nodding his head. “Are you going in to see Koko now?”
“Yeah…I always tuck him in with us chatting for a bit. It’s always a good time to chat about the days events or anything important. Tonight there’s a lot to talk about.” I chuckled.
“That’s good.” Justin yawned as I ran my fingers through his hair for a little while until he fell asleep.
Koko was propped up against some pillows his legs spread apart leaning forward while running his fingers over his naked pubic mound. “What are you doing?” I asked chuckling as I sat down next to him without the boy even flinching.
“Oh…hey dad. Nothing much...I was just looking to see if I’ve got any pubes yet. Do you think you can take a closer look for me?” He asked glancing up for a moment before leaning forward for a closer look.
“Geeze Koko first it’s squirting now it is pubes. Why are you in such a hurry to grow up? Don’t rush things so much.” I exhaled softly leaning over as I ran my fingers lightly over his blank slate.
His brown buttery toned skin felt smooth and silky to the touch. It was strange, but this was one of the few times I’ve actually seen Koko without a hard on as I paused for a moment taking the opportunity to hold the soft fleshy digit in my finger and thumb rolling it around pushing the spongy tissue of his foreskin briefly over his knob. It felt oddly strange holding his little one inch softie in my fingers as I rolled around the warm spongy tube. Even his soft yielding boy pouch seemed somehow different as I cupped them in my hand feeling the weight of his olive sized testicles.
Koko giggled getting my attention. “What?” I asked him as he shrugged his shoulders.
“Nothing…just not all that long ago you just about freaked when I asked you to clean my knob.” He giggled as I looked down at his small little softie, basically nothing but a little round nub like pebble poking up from his pubic mound while his small soft boy satchel sagged between his legs snuggled up against his skin.
“Yeah, well not all that long ago it was all you could do not to squirt all over me too.” I teased back shaking my head.
“How long do you think it is going to take until I start getting bigger down there.” The smaller boy sighed leaning forward watching my fingers while I looked down as well cupping his marbles in my hand once more as if weighing them.
“You know it is different for everyone Koko, but things are already beginning to change for you. I mean it already feels like your testicles have gotten a bit bigger ever since you’ve began to squirt. You probably won’t get all that big down here though Koko. I mean your dad wasn’t that big either, but size really doesn’t count does it now. After all he managed to make you…huh?” I chuckled releasing him as I put my arm around his shoulder cuddling up next to him.
“Yeah…I suppose.” He admitted shrugging his shoulders letting me hug him.
Koko rolled over on to his side facing me as he reached over gently stroking my face with his fingers. He took his time as if he were intensely studying my features. It felt a little strange him staring at me so closely, but also very nice, even flattering in a way.
“I can see why daddy fell in love with you when he was little. You have a very gentle and pretty face to match your kind loving heart.” He finally sighed as he snuggled up his warm body against me as I slowly stroked his back feeling him tremble in my arms.
Slowly I felt his soft tube begin to chub up so I stopped stroking his back simply holding him up against me. Throughout the party I noticed him and Arty disappearing inside the house presumably for a bathroom break, but I suspected there was more going on than a simple pee break. Koko’s father and I used to do the same thing taking every opportunity possible to give one another a quickie. At that age we were both so horny so had to take care of our needs several times a day. So it didn’t surprise me that the two boys took time to help one another out discretely during the party. Even Tim and Justin had disappeared for a few minutes at a time once or twice during the party. I didn’t mind so long as the boys were tactful.
“I had a lot of fun today dad.” Koko began. “To be honest it’s been a couple of years since I’ve had a real birthday party. With daddy being so sick the last couple of years it was just too much for him. Instead we simply spent the time together.” He added.
“Well if you think about it Koko maybe that was for the best. After all those are wonderful memories you have with your dad then…don’t you think?”
“Yeah…you’re right…but still tonight was absolutely fabulous.”
“I’m glad Koko. Listen we have to talk about a few things.” I told him as he nodded his head.
“Sure…what’s up?” He replied not too concerned having gotten used to our little chats by now as he stayed snuggled up to me.
I’ve wanted to talk to him about this one particular topic now for a while, but with everything going on never felt it the right time. Now though I’ve received some confirmation to news I’ve been waiting on for a while so it was finally time.
“How would you feel about having a little brother or sister?” I asked him as he craned his neck furling his eyebrows questioningly.
“You mean bringing in another boy or girl to live with us?” He asked shrugging his shoulders indicating he wouldn’t mind so much.
“No…I mean a baby…my baby.” I replied getting his attention in a hurry.
“A baby…your baby…but how…I mean…you are gay so how…,” he scrunched up his eyebrows at me. “I mean of course I wouldn’t mind…it’s just…I don’t understand.”
Sighing I explained to him how when he came into my life I finally felt it time to start a family of my own so I got some things moving in that regard. I explained how I had selected a surrogate mother to carry a baby to term using my sperm and her egg. She was an exchange student from Romania who had agreed to do this in exchange with helping finance her college tuition. We had made all the arrangements legally doing all the background checks along with psychological assessments to make sure this is something the young woman was actually willing and happy to do.
“Wow…a real baby…and from you to boot.” Koko smiled at me not in the least bit jealous by the news.
“You are alright with it then…not jealous or anything. I mean…it doesn’t change anything between the two of us. What I mean…in the way I will ever feel about you Koko.” I assured him.
“Of course I’m alright with it you silly ninny. Why would I be jealous? Besides, you love Arty, Tim, and Justin very much yet you still have enough for me too. I know it is different with a baby, but it doesn’t mean you won’t love me just as much. Besides, I’d love to have a little brother or sister to spoil.”
“You have no idea how happy that makes me Koko. By the way I want you to name him or her so you need to start thinking of names. I want you to be a part of that too.” I chuckled looking towards the boy for his reaction.
“Wow…really. I get to name the baby?” He asked me a bit shocked that I would let him have such a big responsibility.
“Of course you can. After all the baby is going to be your little brother or sister, but I do get to have veto power in case you decide to come up with something quirky like my folks did with me. I mean really, ‘Willie Everhard,’ how awful.” I giggled shaking my head as he laughed too.
“Wow thanks dad for allowing me to be a part of it too. I’ll think of something that’s right for our little kid sister or brother…I promise, but what about work? I mean, who’s going to be around to take care of the baby?” He frowned contemplatively only slightly concerned about how I was going to manage.
“Well with my position in the firm I can work out of the house most of the time. I’ll still have to go to the office at times, but I’ll be sure to have a good sitter to help out during those times. I already have someone in mind for that.” I countered thinking Selena would fit the bill for those occasional times in-between allowing her to earn some good cash. I figured it would probably be at least once a week.
“Of course Tim will still be watching over you until school starts when needed. This way I can have him taking care of you so the sitter will only be responsible for the baby.”
“Oh…that sounds great. This means you will be home a lot more. See, things are looking better already.” Koko chuckled liking the idea of me being home more often.
“Yes, but it also means we need to go down to the regional passport center to take care of your passport now that you are adopted.” I pointed out as he scrunched his brows together.
“What does that have to do with anything?” He asked curiously.
“Well next week I plan on us flying out to Romania for a couple of weeks to meet the new mother’s family. I want them to be a part of this child’s life so I figure it is important to meet our new extended family. Then we will escort the new mother back with us. She has a place by the university, and will be taking a few classes until the baby comes. Then she will go full time, but I still want her to be a part of our family coming to visit whenever she wants.” I explained.
“Cool, but what about Justin?” He asked a bit worried.
“Well, I had already made reservations for Tim and his mom a couple of months ago when summer started to stay a couple of weeks by Yellowstone. It’s for next week as well, and I arranged it so Justin could tag along with them. I rented them a cabin and everything as a sort of gift for Mary’s hard work. Also while we are gone I plan on having the second floor added. The contractor who helped convert this warehouse into our home will be doing it for us. By the time we get back it will all be done.” I pointed out with Koko smiling.
“Way cool.”
“There’s more good news Koko.” I smiled at him encouragingly as he chuckled.
“What now. You might as well get everything out. Geeze for real dad…when the heck do you have time to come up with all these things.” He laughed shaking his head.
“Well…whenever I can like today at your party. We’ve found Justin a new family and he approves.” I stated getting a mix of emotions from Koko.
“H…he does? Does he really want to leave us?” Koko asked his eyes beginning to well up.
“This is a good thing Koko so don’t cry. I think you will approve too.” I suggested as the smaller boy looked towards me questioningly.
“It’s with Coach Westerly and his wife. They have two grown kids already so had talked a few years ago about becoming foster parents. They even went through the entire process being put on the approval list as foster parents, but then last year his wife got sick so they decided to hold off so they could focus on her health. She’s completely fine and healthy now, so with Justin it seemed to them like it was meant to be.” I watched the smaller boy’s reaction as he nodded his head.
“I’m really happy then dad; especially, if it makes Justin happy too.”
Nodding my head I gave my little boy a warm firm hug. “I mean think about it Koko, this is the perfect place for Justin. He will be able to continue with his gymnastics so you will get to see him practically every day just like you used to. The other good news is that he only lives about ten minutes away by bus so he can visit more often even staying overnight or you visiting him to stay overnight. To be honest I have a feeling he will be around a lot just like Tim and Arty are now. Besides, it is good news for Tim too now. The two of them really love one another.” I pointed out to Koko.
“So when does he move in with the Westerly’s?”
“Once he gets back from Yellowstone with Mary and Tim. It will give Miss Riverside enough time to take care of the paperwork and logistics with Judge Harrington signing off on it.”
“Dad?”
“Yeah Koko.”
“Can I cuddle up with Justin tonight. I mean I promise we will behave. Besides, I don’t think Justin wants to do that sort of thing with me, and to be honest I don’t either. I wouldn’t want to mess things up between him and Tim.” Koko pointed out as I thought about it for a moment.
“Well, to be honest considering how things have turned out I don’t see why it would be an issue now regarding the rules of foster care. Sure, go ahead, but Justin’s already asleep.” I told the younger boy as we got up heading out into the living room.
I watched as Koko snuggled up under the covers cuddling up next to Justin who slowly opened up his eyes looking over at the younger boy curiously. “It’s alright daddy said we could snuggle up together.” The smaller boy sighed draping his arm and leg over his friend allowing his head to settle on Justin’s chest.
“Your dad told you…about…the Westerly’s?”
“Yeah…are you happy about it Justin?”
“Yes Koko…to be honest I really am happy. I’m really lucky you know. I mean the coach has always been decent to me so I know he will take care of me and love me just like your dad does with you. We will get to see each other all the time like real friends. Then there’s Tim. The two of us can be together. I talked to Mr. Westerly and his wife privately, and told them about me and Tim. I only thought it fair. Neither one of them even batted an eye simply saying there will be ground rules concerning certain things in this regard. Tim told me he told his mom about us too. He said she took it really well all things considered.”
“Wow, that’s great Justin. So are you worried?”
“No, not really, just happy is all. I also get to go to Yellowstone with Tim and his mom for a couple of weeks. I’m sure his mom and the Westerly’s will be talking to us about certain…um…you know…rules.” He chuckled. “I’m sure it won’t be all that bad though. Probably similar to what your dad discussed with me and Tim about being cautious. Tim already told me his mom said she doesn’t mind us doing stuff together so long as it is in a safe environment, and we are careful not to push things too far too fast.” The older boy chuckled shaking his head.
“I’m happy for you guys.” Koko yawned snuggling up closely to his best friend’s naked body. “Mmmmm, you smell good.
“You too Koko and thanks. We better get some sleep.” The older boy whispered as I slowly made my way into my room.
Crawling into my own bed I snuggled up under the covers. It’s been one hell of a summer this year. One in which my past finally came catching up to me. My childhood though had been a happy one so when it came knocking on my door I jumped at the opportunity to grab on to it holding it tightly not letting it go. As I slowly drifted to sleep I knew without a doubt I had been blessed with my past in the form of Koko entering my life. In return it provided me with the opportunity to pass on these blessings to not only Koko, but three other beautiful boys. Soon there would be another one to share these blessings with; whether, it be a boy or girl only the future would tell. Whatever the outcome of this miracle baby, it would be showered with all the love our little extended family could offer.
